Sisteron Expedition in June
Once again we will be running an expedition to Sisteron in the Southern French Alps. With an average of 300 days sunshine per year, the area is gliding paradise, with mountain thermals, ridge soaring and wave soaring available on most days. Combine this with the most stunning scenery a glider pilot could wish for and you can see why the southern French alps is one of the best glider pilots playgrounds in the world.
This year we will be taking our Duo Discus and DG 1000 for the two weeks. Each week will consist of six days flying starting on a Sunday and will have a rest day between the two weeks. The student/instructor ratio will be 2:1 each week. What more could you ask for, with very experienced instructors to guide you and help develop your mountain flying skills, you will come back with your horizons broadened
16th – 21st June
23rd – 28th June
The list for the June expedition to Sisteron will be open in the Lasham office on Sat 22nd of February.
Advanced Courses in 2013
Following on from the success of the advanced courses in 2012 we will again be running courses that take you early solo up to flying cross country and racing in competitions. Full details of the course dates can be seen on the Lasham web site in the club calendar section.
This year the majority of these advanced courses will be run by my Deputy CFI, G Dale and as many of you who have been on one of “G” courses before will know, his skill at running cross country soaring courses is second to none.
As it proved to be popular in 2012 we will again be running a competition training course running in July. This course aims to show you how to race cross country, play competition tactics and become the person standing up front giving the day winners speech.
All booking for the advanced courses should be made through the office and as in previous years, if the demand is high we will lay on extra courses to satisfy members and visitors needs.
