If you are young, learning to fly isn't as expensive as you might think. Gliding is a great way of learning to fly, being much cheaper than powered flying. At Lasham, we significantly reduce the rates for those under the age of 26.

Under 18s

In the summer we run dedicated Junior evening groups on both a Tuesday and Saturday. In the winter we run Saturday afternoon groups.

These create a supportive environment for young members to fly together. We have our own DBS-checked instructors, ensuring a safe learning environment.

You will start on one of these Junior groups, and once you have received some ground training you can come at any other time. Lasham flies 7 days a week, continuing all the way until sunset on most days.

Under 26s

To encourage young adults to start their gliding journey, we offer reduced membership and flying fees for individuals up to the age of 26.

To begin, either book a trial lesson, or contact us to join as a member directly. Opting for membership from the outset is often the more economical choice for juniors.
